Finishing Specialist
J.H. Carr & Sons, a Waymar Company, is seeking a full-time Finishing Specialist for our location in Kent, Washington.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Engage in all phases of finishing furniture products which include applying appropriate finish, mixing custom colors and monitoring quality of finish application.
2. Perform general finishing techniques including:
- Understanding of HVLP equipment
- Demonstrate knowledge of coatings, shelf/pot life, appropriate acids/catalysts
- Utilizing appropriate sanding techniques for raw material as well as sealed products
- Apply base materials: stains
3. Engage in safe work area checks and maintenance of safety equipment.
4. Follow company procedures to ensure customer orders are processed in a timely fashion.
5. Advise Cell Supervisor promptly of any machinery or tools needing maintenance.
6. Maintain clean work area, returning equipment and hand tools to their proper storage locations.
7. Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule
Day Shift:
6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Extended
hours may be required as service needs dictate.
Compensation
Starting rate of pay is $12.00 per hour. The incumbent will be eligible for benefits including medical, dental, paid time off and more following 60 days of employment.
